Cove is for people who find most apps too much. Accessibility is where we start, not something we add at the end.

What we aim for

The website and the app aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The app is checked with automated accessibility tests every time it changes.

What that means in practice

  • Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for readers with low vision, for all body text.
  • Text and buttons with strong contrast, in light and dark mode.
  • Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Nothing moves if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Pictures and words together, never colour alone.

Calm mode

The Calm mode switch at the bottom of every page turns off all movement, removes decoration and makes the text larger. It's remembered on your device.
